It is all very well to blame traffic jams,the cost of petrol and the quick pace of modern life,butmannerson the roads are becoming horrible.Everybody knows that the nicest men becomemonsters behind the wheel.Itis all very well,again,to have a tiger in the tank,but to have one inthe driver's seat is another matter altogether.You might tolerate the odd road-hog(莽撞驾车者)，the rude and inconsiderate driver,but nowadays the well-mannered motorist is theexception to the rule.Perhaps the situation calls for a "Be Kind to OtherDrivers"campaign,otherwise it may get completely out of hand.
Road politeness is not only good manners, but good sense too.It takes the most cool-headedand good-tempered of drivers to resist the temptation to revenge when subjected touncivilized behavior.On the other hand,a little politeness goes a long way towards relieving thetensions of motoring.A friendly nod or a wave of acknowledgement in response to an act ofpoliteness when they see it.
However,misplaced politeness can also be dangerous.Typical examples are the driver whobrakes violently toallow a car to emerge from a side street at some hazard to followingtraffic,when a few seconds later the road would be clear anyway;or the man who waves a childacross a zebra crossing into the path of oncoming vehicles that may be unable to stop intime.The same goes for encouraging old ladies to cross the road wherever and whenever theycare to.It always amazes me that the highways are not covered with the dead bodiesof thesegrannies.
A veteran driver,whose manners are faultless,told me it would help if motorists learnt to filtercorrectlyinto traffic streams one at a time without causing the total blockages that give rise tobad temper.Unfortunately,modern motorists can't even learn to drive,let alone master thesubtler aspects of roadsmanship.Years age the experts warned us that the car-ownershipexplosion would demand a lot more give-and-take from all road users.It is high fime for all ofus to take this message to heart.

i once came across an american tourist. she said， ―china has a history of five thousand years， but the us only has a history of 200 years. five thousand years ago， china took the lead in the world， and now it is the us that is leading.‖ my heart was deeply touched by these words. it is true that we‘re still a developing nation， but it doesn‘t mean that we can despise ourselves. we have such a long-standing history， we have such abundant resources， we have such intelligent and diligent people， and we have enough to be proud of.
reasons to say proudly： we are sure to take the lead in the world in the future again， for our problems are big， but our ambition is even bigger， our challenges are great， but our will is even greater.
i am chinese. i have inherited black hair and black eyes. i have inherited the virtues of my ancestors. i have also taken over responsibility. i am sure， that wherever i go， whatever i do， i shall never forget that i am chinese!

Last Sunday, I went sightseeing with my friends in the Fairy Lake Park. The water is clean and clear and we can even see fishes swimming freely in it. Beside the lake there was a sign which read “Don’t throw water into the lake!” However, a couple ignored it completely, throwing waste into the lake, while saying loudly “How beautiful the scenery is!”
Seeing this, I was sad and angry. How should they do things like that? Now, some people don’t mind their own behavior in public places. They speak loudly regardless of others’ feelings surrounding them and even pollute the environment at random.
To make our society more harmonious, I appeal to the whole society to mind our own behavior in public places and small good things in our daily life which surely make a big difference to our world.

I enter tile university after years of hard study and preparation. But life in the university is not as satisfactory as what I had exxpected. I become lazy and don't want to study.I become silcent. I become puzzled. I don't know what I can do in the future. Then I become unhappy.
Four years in the university is only a short period when compared my whole lifetime. Now it has passed a half. In this year, many people ,such as my parents,my friends, ask me what I want to do and tell me to map out a plan for my life. I don't want to follow their suggestion, and I want to go my style. So I think carefully. I have been a young volunteer(志愿者) for five years.It's very happy and significant. Then I have a dream.I want to join the University Student Volunteers Go West Programe. I think I can be a teacher in the west.I want to try my best to help them and help me. I want to see the world cearly. Now I can't reach its demand and it's very diffcult,but I will work hard in the nexxt two years. There is an old saying"where there is a will,there is a way.(有志者事竟成)"I think my dream can come ture.Now in the university I mature,and in the university I prepare for the real world.
